Vikings keeping Stefanski as Offensive Coordinator
The Vikings announced on Wednesday that Kevin Stefanski will be the full-time offensive coordinator going into the 2019 season. The jury is still out on whether this will be a good hire or not. Hopefully, after a full off-season and training camp under his belt Stefanski will bring some pep and innovation into what was a very predictable offense last year. Diggs and Thielen make out pretty good with both going over 1,000 yards in a season, but Dalvin Cook needs a lot more touches and production. It should the offense that Stefanski has been there for some time and hopefully that will translate into a more productive offense.

I think this is the right move. He coached Keenum and Bradford to their best seasons. I believe he can be a good OC.

He's only been QB coach the last two seasons so he didn't coach Bradford in 2016. He certainly helped the Vikes get the most out of Keenum though.PurpleMustReign wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 5:33 pmI think this is the right move. He coached Keenum and Bradford to their best seasons. Re: Vikings keeping Stefanski as Offensive Coordinator
He's moved around the staff quite a bit so it gets confusing. I think Scott Turner was the QB coach in 2016.
Stefanski's history with the Vikes goes like this:
2006-2008: Administrative assistant to Brad Childress
2009-2013: Assistant QB coach
2014-2015: TE coach
2016: RB coach
2017-2018: QB coach

How did he do with Cousins?Mothman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:27 pmHe's only been QB coach the last two seasons so he didn't coach Bradford in 2016. Re: Vikings keeping Stefanski as Offensive Coordinator
Stefanski was the easy choice which is why Speilman picked him. Also, his 'always being around' holds little weight. A Childress appointee who was never really good at any coaching job, at least enough to keep that job. Blah, Speilman has no idea how to see talent, and Zimmer has little talent on the offensive side of the ball.

The coaches pick their staff. Spielman had nothing to do with this. It's rare that a coach holds over to one other coach, Stefanski had been here for three. Again, thars the coaches.PurpleKoolaid wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 7:34 pmStefanski was the easy choice which is why Speilman picked him. Also, his 'always being around' holds little weight. I think the jury is still deliberating on those results.

That is one of the things I do like. He knows the players and knows the positions. I hope we sign a good OL coachMothman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 7:02 pmHe's moved around the staff quite a bit so it gets confusing. I think Scott Turner was the QB coach in 2016.

"We're going to learn from our mistakes and re-evaluate how we hire."
Proceed to hire the guy who has been here all along within a matter of days.
Not very confidence inspiring but at least it isn't Hue...

Wouldnt you feel better if he had shown the ability to beat at least one team as OC that wasn't dogspit? I know I would.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:20 pmThat is one of the things I do like. He knows the players and knows the positions. 1/3 of the way done, and it looks like a failure. At least what we will have to do to pay his contract.
