I always liked Wilson. I remember the '87 playoffs very well, having the big game with Anthony Carter against the 49ers and getting us to an unexpected NFCC Game. He was also a very good quarterbacks coach in Dallas.
Such a shame.
Such a shame.

The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

Re: Former Vikings QB Wade Wilson Passes Away at Age 60
It's a very sad situation. I know he was a Type 1 diabetic. I know diabetes all to well unfortunately. My wife has been on the insulin pump for years. I have an older cousin who has been insulin dependent since 8 yrs of age, and unfortunately both of his kids are also. I've read a few stories on Wilson and the battles he has had with the effects of the disease , and how he regulates when he played in a few diff articles in magazines . It's a crummy disease. I am not saying that it was the cause of his passing, but was wondering when I heard it if it was a factor. So sad to hear this news.

I'm a type 1 and have been since I was 2. Wilson was one of the reasons I became a Vikings fan. I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to his diabetes. Does make you question your time a bit when someone likely with the money and had elite health at least part of the time still dies sooner than the general life expectancy.
