Re: Updating the Traveling/Game Attending Advice

Ah yes, thanks Ohjay! They have a crazy beer selection and it's part of our annual pilgrimage. I think I've been to 8th St Grill, is that the one with the umbrella seats outside? Definitely a Packers bar if so. Hell's Kitchen seems popular for breakfast but it's always so crowded we just pass. Yep ...

Re: Updating the Traveling/Game Attending Advice

Happy Gnome Bar (St. Paul, thanks to the VMB user who recommended this place!) I think that's me. You're welcome! :) And like S197 said, I'm not an expert either or lives in Minneapolis but I do travel there a lot, for what it's worth. Lodging Basically every downtown hotel is good but a couple of ...

Re: Biggest Need On The Team?

This is really interesting. But I feel like you're missing a vital piece in this analysis... years as a HC. Of those 21 Super Bowl coaches who won within the first 4 seasons with a new team were actually new head coaches? That's a good question. 14 of the 21 coaches were first time NFL head coaches...

Re: Biggest Need On The Team?

I think that is a fair assessment. My question is - Do you think they (the coaching staff) have a chance to attain that level of performance? This is not a "Fire Zimmer!" comment. Zimmer had a great year this year, and even in the games that we lost (sans the NFC Championship game, of course) I nev...

Re: 2017 NFL Season General NFL Thread

The tweet must have been from the end of the divisional game on Saturday(Twitter automatically adjusts timezones, so it was probably sent on the 13th ET). Can't remember if Hoyer played late in the 4th quarter, but it's not unlikely. Yeah, the no practice is a bad sign. But the practice on Friday wi...

He hasn't practiced for a couple of days due to that hand injury he sustained in practice. But I haven't heard anything about him not being able to start.

Re: Holy F*ckin sh*t post-game thread madness

I was there as well... and I'm still at a loss for words of that whole end of the game. Such a rollercoaster of emotions in the last 3 minutes. Everybody is talking about the amazing finish, and duly so, but those last 3 minutes, jeeeeeeebus! First the NO touchdown with 3 minutes to go and them taki...

Re: What's your story?

My story is also a bit different, just like most other foreign fans. In 2009/10 I was working mostly night shifts at work and after having watched all the shows I wanted I turned to sports. At that hour the only thing available were american sports so I started watching NHL and NFL games. The more I...

Re: Divisional Round: Vikings vs Saints Pre-Game Discussion

Agreed. Speaking of which, how cold is it in there with the doors closed this time of year? I've been to the stadium twice but both times it was in September. I've been to a game where it was low 20's outside and it was still a comfortable high 60's, low 70's inside with doors closed. I remember go...

Re: 2017 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes,

Have they gotten skol chants going in entire away stadiums, or just sections (such as Case leading on as he departed the field at Lameblow)? I am thinking something that would like the entire stadium so it comes off as something similar to when it is lead off by the big drum? Just thinking somethin...

Re: 2017 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes,

Wouldn't it be cool if someone could make a mobile app that could coordinate a stadium (and maybe beyond) in a Skol Chant? Maybe something that sets up a coordinated stomp stomp to replicate the drum, and setting up the timing for the V-clap and Skol chant. Make that stadium our home, whether the N...

Re: Flying out of MSP after Divisional Game

Have you considered taking the Light Rail? It's only roughly 20 minutes from the stadium to the airport, and no major risk of delays (which is a huge risk if you drive). Can't imagine that there will be very long security lines on a Sunday night so an hour should be fine, especially if you're not ch...
